DESCRIPTION

The core of these plastic cryo grid boxes is manufactured from a tested, biologically degradable, durable polymer that can be easily cleaned with ethanol. Three colours are available; red, orange, and pink, chosen for better contrast under liquid nitrogen and to lead the user’s eye to the correct position while the grid box is in use. Compatible with both unclipped and clipped standard 3 mm electron microscopy grids.

Grid slots are in a “+” shape to accommodate clipped grids in one direction and unclipped grids in both directions. This shape lowers the risk of damaging your samples, such as single particle preparations, cells, or lamellae from focused ion beam milling. For unclipped grids, the narrower slot will limit the grid movement to prevent damage during shipping.

An enlarged opening to the grid slots provides users with improved accessibility when using clipping tweezers with broader tips, and the transparent lid is ideal for identifying filled grid chambers. Special slot access results in only one grid being exposed at a time, while all other grids remain covered to reduce the danger of icing.

Compatible with most current cryo-TEM devices and stations, and designed with a notch in the edge of the grid box to match the protrusion in the receptacle. This feature prevents the grid box from rotating during the loosening or tightening of the central nut.

The turning tool can be used to open or close the central nut, which holds the lid of the grid box.
