A 4 day remote training course for 3 hours per day on our Aztec EBSD system allowing best practise analysis and interpretations of results. The course will be held through Skype video call and time for each day will be agreed with participant. we will provide with all material needed.

Please book your course at least 3 weeks before the start date to give us enough time to arrange. Courses are for customers who have used the systems for a while, have basic operational knowledge rather than completely new users.

DESCRIPTION

COURSE NAME: AZtec EBSD (Remote)
COURSE DURATION: 4 days (3 hours per day)

A 4 day remote training course for 3 hours per day on our Aztec EDS system allowing best practise analysis and interpretations of results. The course will be held through Skype video call and time for each day will be agreed with participant. we will provide with all material needed.

 At the end of the course, a certificate of attendence will be given to the partecipant. Once you have placed and paid for your training order, a team member from Oxford Instruments Nano Analysis will get in touch with you and will request all necessary information prior to the training to make sure all necessary arrangements are put in place.

Please note: Minimum 4 attendees required to start each course, if not enough people, then customer will have to wait until next scheduled course.

 

Course Outline:

  • General Overview of how to prepare samples for EBSD analysis.
  • Introduction to Crystallography, Miller Indices,
  • Principles of pattern formation, processing, and indexing.
  • Introduction to common EBSD data presentation such as pole figures, inverse pole figures, misorientation, orientation maps, and Grain boundaries.
  • Phase Identification/discrimination of unknown materials using EDS and EBSD.
  • Automation and large area mapping (LAM)
  • Advanced post-processing using Aztec Crystal.

Note: This course provides a short introduction into Crystallography and Miller indices, however it is recommended that the attendee familiarizes him/herself with the basic concepts of crystallography prior to attending the course.

Payment Policy

If you wish to pay by card, Paypal or Affirm, you don’t need to communicate with us first and you can also check out as guest. If you wish to pay by prepaid bank transfer, you will have to register a MyOI account first, then request to ecommerceteam@estore.oxinst.com to activate prepaid bank transfer (Proforma invoice) on your MyOI account.

If you wish to pay by net 30 days invoice, you will have to request this when you register a MyOI account. Please be aware that only customers with previous business with Oxford Instruments will be authorised to pay by net 30 day invoice. You can explain your previous business with Oxford Instruments when you register your MyOI account. If your institution or company doesn’t have any previous business relationship with Oxford Instruments, you will be asked to place at least 3 prepaid orders through the eStore before we can consider your request.

Our eStore is managed by our ecommerce partner ModusLink. This means that on the e-invoice, you will see both the ModusLink and Oxford Instruments logos. If you wish to pay by net 30 day invoice, you will have to send us a PO with ModusLink as supplier, because the invoice will have to be paid into ModusLink’s bank account, so we need to make sure ModusLink is a registered vendor in your system and payment won’t be delayed.
