AZtec Crystal Post Processing Course

COURSE NAME: AZtec Crystal Post-Processing Course 
COURSE DURATION: 1 day (4 hours)

AZtec Crystal is Oxford Instruments’ post-processing software for advanced data manipulation and presentation of Electron Backscattered Diffraction (EBSD) data collected on the Aztec EBSD system.

This course consists of a one day 4-hour session. Allows up to 2 remote connections to the online course. Training will consist of presentations and software instruction.

Course Objectives:

• Familiarize the customer with the major data types produced in AZtec Crystal.
• Introduce the new user to the AZtec Crystal software and the essential concepts of manipulating EBSD data exported from Aztec EBSD.
• To have the customer become confident in processing their collected EBSD data.

Course Outline:

• Overview data presentation in EBSD and Aztec Crystal
• Introduction to AZtec Crystal software including:
  1. Grain size measurements
  2. Generating pole figures and Inverse pole figures and ODFs.
  3. Displaying various orientation and texture maps.
  4. How to perform data cleaning on raw data
  5. Data subsetting.

Note:  This course does included training on acquiring EBSD data, sample preparation, or best conditions for analysis. If you need an introduction to AZtec EBSD, then please refer to the AZtec EBSD courses offered on this site. It is recommended that anyone attending this course should be familiar with the AZtec EBSD system or have attended one the AZtec EBSD courses prior to attending this class.
