Lacey Carbon Films on Mesh Grids (Pack of 50)

Lacey carbon films are similar to the holey carbon films in that they have open areas but because of the fine lacey mesh structure they offer a greater percentage of open area in comparison. Lacey carbon support films resemble a random spider web-like mesh with a more open area than holey carbon films. They are also ideal as support films for adding graphene and graphene oxide films.

Description

Lacey carbon films are similar to the holey carbon films in that they have open areas but because of the fine lacey mesh structure they offer a greater percentage of open area in comparison (see micrograph). They provide the thinnest possible support film while maintaining adequate strength and give practically no background interference in the TEM. As much of the specimen is unsupported, these films are appropriate for use where a structure free background is of importance. Lacey carbon films are particularly suitable for studying some nanotubes, acicular crystals and biological/materials specimens

Hole size can be controlled during manufacture so if you require a particular hole size (or with a slightly thicker or thinner carbon film).

Also included in our range is a Lacey Formvar Carbon support film that retains a Lacey Formvar backing for additional strength.

Supplied as 25 or 50 grids in a grid box.
