Calcium Fluoride Outer Window (CF/DN old style/CCC). Calcium fluoride (CaF2) may be used in the near and mid IR. The type of window material selected will be determined by the wavelenth and intensity of the radiation, the environmental temperature and whether or not beam polarisation is required.

Calcium fluoride (CaF2) has useful transmission over the spectral range from 0.2 to 8.0 microns. UV and IR grade CaF2 windows are popular choice for specroscopic and thermal imaging applications. CaF2 windows have high damage threshold and can be used as mirror substrates for UV laser systems.
