Description

Super smooth, polished silicon mounts are ideal for applications where the machined surface of aluminium or carbon stubs can cause interference, such as the examination of small particles with fine structure, mounting cell structures and determining resolution and contrast capabilities of the 'in-the-lens' field emission SEMs. The silicon chips are opaque, of low electrical resistance, have surface properties equal to glass and may be attached to any type of specimen stub. The chips are cleaned before packaging, and are supplied as a pre-cut 10cm wafer.

The surface finish roughness if less than 1nm and the crystallographic orientation is (100). The wafer thickness is 460-530µm, polished on one side and without a silicon dioxide top coating.
